Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a written reply to the question in the Rajya Sabha on Friday that the requirement of manpower in different categories varies depending on the change in priorities and technology upgradation. Therefore, Railways has a dynamic process of identifying the vacancies to be filled and filling them in a continuous manner. Vacancies are filled by issuing requisitions with recruitment agencies as per the operational requirements in Railways.
No proposal to form committee to decide train fare
There is no plan of the Railway Ministry to form a committee to decide the fares of trains in the country. People saved Rs 7416 crore from Jan Aushadhi Kendras
In this financial year, people saved approximately Rs 7416 crore from more than 10 thousand Jan Aushadhi centers across the country. Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Bhagwant Khuba said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Friday that during the financial year 2022-23, the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) has registered a total of 1236, with an increase of about 40 percent as compared to the previous year. Due to the sale of Jan Aushadhi medicines worth Rs. crore, this led to a saving of Rs. 7416 crore to the people.
Notices given to internet media firms to remove child sexual abuse material
The government has issued notices to internet media platforms like Telegram, YouTube and X and groups circulating such material to remove child sexual abuse material. Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar told the Rajya Sabha on Friday that internet media platforms have been informed that intermediaries including internet media platforms will have to follow the existing rules and if they do not follow the rules, third parties hosted by them will be liable to pay Rs. Information will not exempt you from liability under law.
63 percent of candidates recommended for CSE (Mains) had engineering degrees.
More than 63 per cent of the total candidates recommended by the Union Public Service Commission for the Civil Services Examination (Mains) during 2017-21 had engineering degrees. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh, while presenting the data of recommended candidates for CSE (Mains) in the Rajya Sabha, said that out of 4371 candidates who appeared for the exam during this period, 2783 were from the engineering stream.

The Union Minister said that the data shows that 1033 candidates were from non-science background, 315 were science and 240 were medical graduates. In case of candidates with higher degree, 597 postgraduates from non-science background and 243 postgraduates from engineering passed the examination.

Mobile phone exports from India increased
Indian Railway Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Friday that several bilateral meetings have been held with the Eurasian Economic Union to discuss the trade agreement. In response to another question, the Union Minister said that India’s mobile phone exports reached Rs 64,823 crore by October, whereas it was approximately Rs 39,923 crore in the same period in 2022-23.
